Danielle Vallas MS LMHC

A little about me

Have you ever felt "stuck" and that you were not living the life that you want? My focus in therapy is to help you develop skills to cope with life in a way that allows you to live more fully in the present moment and move in the direction of your goals. I can help you address difficulties and develop the solutions that are right for you. I offer eclectic techniques which include Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (including Mindfulness), Strength Based therapy, and EMDR for Trauma Therapy.

I have a Masters in Education and have worked in a school for over 15 years as a Director of Wellness and School Mental Health Counselor. I love working with teens and young adults as I specialize in teen issues, stress, anxiety, depression and eating disorders. Although I spend a lot of time with teens and young adults I do welcome and enjoy working with adults as well.

Additionally, I am a certified trauma informed yoga instructor and mindfulness educator.  I am currently an adjunct professor at University of Buffalo Graduate School of Education.

My strength is my ability to build positive, ongoing relationship with clients while offering support through life's many challenges. I provide appointments during the afternoons, evenings and weekends. I look forward to meeting you.

A little about me

Have you ever noticed that your life’s path can be difficult to find at times? Maybe you have a sense of where you should be heading but feel clouded by doubt, uncertainty, stress, anxiety, depression, trauma, or other difficulties? I believe that we all have the strength to “make our path by walking it,” but I also believe that therapy can help us learn and grow in ways that free us to move forward towards the life we want to live.

I have over twenty years of experience working with teens and young adults of diverse identities and backgrounds including two decades as a teacher and advisor in high school and college classrooms. I love working with young people. Having encountered many of life’s crossroads myself, I also find deep meaning working with adults, including adults meeting the challenges of parenthood and adults experiencing the complex changes that life brings. I extend a welcome to men of all ages who might be unsure that therapy is for them.

My therapeutic approach is person-centered. I offer techniques inspired by Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy and also by Rogerian and Existential practices. I have two Master’s degrees, including a Masters in Mental Health Counseling.

My focus is on you and finding the solutions that will work best for you.  I am ready to listen, to hear your story, and to accompany you on this part of your path. I am eager to walk alongside you as you move towards the life you carry in your heart.

I provide appointments in the afternoons, evenings, and on weekends. I look forward to meeting with you.

Elizabeth Benedict, MA, MS, MHC-LP

A little about me

With over a decade of experience as a classroom teacher, I bring a deep understanding of the academic, social, and emotional challenges that children and adolescents face both in and outside of school. Now, as a mental health counselor, I specialize in supporting children, teens, and young adults through life’s many ups and downs—always placing warmth, empathy, and collaboration at the heart of our work.

My approach is holistic and developmentally informed. I draw from evidence-based practices, cognitive behavioral strategies tailored for younger clients, and expressive interventions such as art and mindfulness. I also believe strongly in partnering with families to create consistent, supportive environments that extend beyond the therapy room. Guided by a belief in “movement as medicine,” I often incorporate body awareness and physical activity to help clients regulate emotions and build resilience.

I hold master’s degrees in both Education and Clinical Mental Health Counseling and am a Limited Permit Mental Health Counselor (MHC-LP). I offer flexible afterschool appointment hours and would be honored to support your child or teen as they grow through life’s challenges.
